What is Exterior Siding and Trim
Exterior siding is a technique for covering the outside of your building with a skin of various materials. The cladding material is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a durable and weather-resistant plastic material. Additionally, it can also be made from other materials, such as wood or concrete fiber. Use it to cover the exterior walls of buildings to protect them from the elements and provide insulation. Vinyl siding is manufactured in a variety of shapes and sizes, including rectangular panels, shake and shingle styles, and trim pieces, to fit the specific design needs of a building. The panels are generally installed horizontally on the walls, with the trim pieces used to finish off the edges and around windows, doors, and other openings.

Soffit & Fascia Trim
These building components, Soffit and fascia trim, are located on the exterior of a building and serve both functional and aesthetic purposes.
The soffit is the underside of an overhang or eave, located on the bottom of the roof. It provides ventilation for the attic and protects the home’s structure from moisture damage. They are made of materials like vinyl, aluminum, or wood and can be vented or solid.
The fascia is the flat board that runs along the edge of the roof and is attached to the rafters. It covers the ends of the roof rafters and provides a base for the gutters to be attached to. The fascia is often made of the same material as the soffit and can be painted or stained to match the color of the home.
These are important components in the protection and appearance of a building’s exterior. Use them to complement or contrast with the siding and other exterior features, creating a cohesive look and improving the overall aesthetic of the home.
Not only does soffit give a nice, clean appearance to your home’s eaves and rooflines, but it also helps protect your home’s structure, keeping it strong. A soffit system provides air circulation and ventilation, reducing moisture that can contribute to the rotting and decaying of the roof’s structure. The efficient airflow through the eaves and rafters also helps them retain their shape.
